Today's Special will be love. Sentimental, mazel tov-driven love. On the menu: The love of friends since girlhood. The love of friends old and newish. The love of a bride-to-be for her future groom. Today's Special will celebrate a mensch named Annie, daughter of a mensch named Elena, soon to marry a mensch named Jonny. Today's Special will be a bridal shower thrown with love by gals who met so long ago we can't quite believe it. But we have photographic proof so it must be true. Long ago, we gave each other bridal showers. And now we're doing it again for a whole new generation. Let the brunching, the gifts, the smiles, the laughter, the kvelling begin.
